Out With The Old So There’s More Space For The New

by JermynToh on 29 March, 2009

I played KL tour-guide this weekend to some frens from L.A. and Singapore.

It’s funny how you end up shopping just as much as they do when we you’re showing people around. After finding a few amazing stores in Sungei Wang, I picked up 5 new shirts, 1 jacket + 2 tank-top jacket combos.

There wasn’t much space left for new things in my wardrobe so I decided to so some spring cleaning.

The rule of thumb was to put aside anything I hadn’t worn for the last 6 months. Its a hard thing to do actually since we all have an instinct to hoard.

I’m surprised at the many pairs of pants, shorts, bermudas and tops I’ve kept from yesteryears. Some items have sentimental value. Others I’m thinking may come back in style. And then there are those that fall into the category of “What was I thinking!?”

I’ve been through the era of shoulder pads, fluorescent pieces, baggy pants, hipsters, engineer jeans to the current more skinny pants + structured look. Fashion is always evolving and reinventing season after season.

It’ll be interesting to see what styles the space I’ve freed up fills with.

Yeah, take a picture after you’re done. Would be interesting to see the end results. *smiley face*
