I was a little confused as I wasn’t sure if he was referring to a male or female acquaintance.
When he said he had a few ladies to recommend I flat out said “that’s not my thing”.
He then went on to say he’s been single for a while now and thinks its finally time to just find someone to be with even if it was someone from China.
That got me thinking … is the need to be with someone so great that at times anyone will do? Or do you stay with someone even though you’ve come to realise there are quite a few things that aren’t working and its tiring to be together.
Isn’t there a need to find some deeper connection since you’re gonna be spending so much time together?
Even though I’m single and 40 is around the corner, I’m still holding out for someone who’s gonna come into my life who’ll make my heart do cartwheels. Someone whom I’ll feel a connection with which will catch us by surprised when we hug each other. Someone who’ll make me think and see different perspectives, who I can imagine being with as we’re both old and sitting in rockers.

yeah … no arguments about the need for companionship.
i was just thinking I’d rather grow old in the company of my frens rather than just find someone to be with just because the both of us are lonely. there needs to be some common ground, some ability to bond right?
oh well .. who knows … maybe when i’m 50 and single i’ll change my point of view
i think it’s just a human need for companionship. when you get older and the needs for career/money/everything else is already met, you just slow down and want to have someone to talk to and pay attention to.
