Waiting To Get On A Jet Plane

So my first 9 days in Singapore after 3.5 years of being away have flown past.

There have been many catch-ups over drinks, coffee and meals with various friends and family and I’m leaving with a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling.

Maybe its the hangover wearing off after yesterday night’s excesses where a group of us polished off 3 bottles of champagne, 3 jugs of various alcoholic mixes and several other glasses of this and that in 2 hours. Thanks eddie for the extra bottle .. that was the one that tipped the scales and made the night even more fun.

Maybe I’ve realised I have changed and grown-up a little in the time away and I’m meeting new people and forging new friendships given my disenchantment with hitting the clubs.

Maybe its the beautiful red dragonfly perched on the antenna of my car that childhood friends Karen & Susim pointed out to me as we were leaving Dempsey after lunch.

Or maybe it be coz I took a drive around the neighbourhood I grew up in just before I came to the airport to catch my flight back to KL.

Spending 9 days in Singapore instead of the usual rushed 2 or 3 days every 4 or 5 months makes a huge difference and this extra time has made me appreciate some things I’ve missed over the past 3.5 years.

Will post a montage of pictures shortly but I thought I’d write this while I was in this slightly melancholic mood.
