Tweet I guess its about time I address the new look which has gotten some reactions.

A sudden madness came upon me two weeks ago and a thought was planted in my head.

“What will I look like if I let my beard grow out without the whole blonde look.”

Previously, I had grown a goatee when I dyed my head blonde as a social experiment. This time, the goatee isn’t an attempt to balance the colour and appearance of my look, its kept because I feel its what I’m maturing into.

junhon initially didn’t like the look and complained that I looked too fierce. He even tried to rally robingoh to his side by asking me to ask Robin and other’s if they approved of my new look. He’s gotten used to it now, as with most people, and I don’t think he has much to say given that he’s also gone through a change.

My mom now calls me a Chinese gangster and thinks I do this to save time in the morning by not having to shave. Contrary to that believe, keeping a goatee actually requires more time as I’ve not only got to shave the areas I don’t want hair, I’ve got to pluck and groom the areas with hair so it doesn’t look messy.

Reactions overall have been overall encouraging.
- Some casual friends have MSNed me asking me how come I’m sporting such a manly look.
- My cousin, whom I haven’t chatted with in a while, suddenly chatted with me online saying I could carry the look and said her BF was keeping his facial hair as well, albeit more disheveled than mine.
- I’m getting addressed as “ah bang” on the streets by staff of shops.

We evolve as individuals through the years with all the things life lets us experience.
This goatee is part of that individual evolution.
