Juggling

I was watching Discovery Travel & Living just the other nite and the host was saying how juggling is an amazing way of breaking the ice with many a stranger or traveler.

Thoughts to myself … hmmm …. next thing i know, the training I attended over Friday and Saturday started me on juggling!

It was one of the things the instructor taught besides Mind Maps.

The idea is really to get both sides of your brain, the left & the right, working simultaneously, and juggling is great for that.

Tony Buzan advocates that you can learn at any age and you should do all kinds of things to make your brain grow.

So juggle I will try to regularly from now.

Some interesting reads:
CNN says: It’s no longer just a party trick. Juggling might also enhance your brainpower. It will help to improve hand-eye co-ordination and according to a university study may also boost your brain power. http://edition.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/05/24/pl.juggling/

Medical News Today says: A new study published in the journal Nature finds that learning to juggle may cause certain areas of your brain to grow.

The finding challenges conventional wisdom the structure of the brain cannot change except through aging and disease. Previous studies have shown learning can result in changes in brain activity. But this latest study demonstrates an anatomical change as a result of learning – that is, the brain size actually expands. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/5615.php
