Bangkok Post #1

Hit Bangkok from Thursday, 7 Aug to Monday 11 Aug with robingoh. Hossan told us to paint the town FUSCHIA ….and we did. More about that in the next post.

We stayed in a hotel a friend of mine from Bangkok suggested and it was lovely!! 1,000 time better than the last hole-in-the-wall-awful-excuse-for-a-hotel called The Inn Saladaeng.

This lovely cosy place is called Silom Convent Garden. Its along a lane called Soi Pipat 2 … that lane joins Soi Convent which is the soi California gym is on. A very accessible location with lots of local shops and roadside food stalls. St Joseph’s Convent and a monastery are right round the corner.

The hotel is really nice and so are the staff. They even gave us a really late check-out without any extra charge. And they had the good sense to only call at about 4 or 5pm to see if we wanted our room cleaned rather than before or around lunch.

thanks for the hotel recommendation kelvin

Here are some pics:

Walking around bangkok this trip, I decided to make an effort to take some pics and here are two that are note-worthy. First one … the guy is dishy … second one … Robin thought what you saw as you unzipped the fly were clever!

If we had only known earlier Tuesday was a public holiday in Bangkok… we would have taken an extra day of leave to party with the Thai guys. They really know how to let down their hair and have a good time!!

More pics in my next bangkok post.
