Differing Work Styles

Just realised a lot of my friends and I have differing work styles from the exchange below:

Tee Su Sim:
haha, you are boss like me. but i FROWN on my staff if i catch them MSNing while at work.

Jermyn Toh:
heh … i encourage my staff to facebook / msn / youtube at work

it helps in their creativity and productivity

for me … all that matters is that the work gets done and done to the standard that i expect … other than that … they’re free to surf and do other things
:-)

Tee Sum Sim:
i know i am a pain to work for, so far i have very high standards on own time on target. i’ve killed myself many times over, ask Karen.

Jermyn Toh:
heh … must learn to slow down and relax with age

malaysia has helped me take stock, slow down and appreciate

My dad was telling me that you can’t expect a person to be working all the time. I used to work every single minute of the day, sometimes never stopping for food even just so I could get as many things done as possible.

I used to expect everyone to also work like that.

That’s a crazy way to work all the time and I’m glad I’m now slightly laid back and only go into that mode when needed.

I love the fact that I have internet access at office :)

I think my productivity would actually go down if I’m expected to do nothing but WORK! As long as work gets completed on time, alls good.
