SONY ERICSSON SUCKS

by JermynToh on 14 June, 2008

recently i’ve been hearing this countless times …. now i add my voice to the chorus that’s getting louder and louder

SONY ERICSSON SUCKS …. BIG TIME!!!

to be fair … my k770i actually takes amazing pictures coz of the cybershot technology

but other than that … its a crappy OVERPICED piece of shit

the buttons of my keypad are so badly made that after a few months, the plastic “rubbed” off given how much I SMS and chat on MSN …. got to the point that i cudn’t see the numbers at all. recently …. its been getting harder and harder to text requiring me to press the buttons really hard.

then last week .. the internet key dropped off

i called sony and found out it’ll cost me RM110 to change the back house, RM90 for the front housing and RM90 for the keypad

COME FUCKING ON!!! … RM90 to RM110 for pieces of plastic crap!?

begrudgingly i forked out the money and complained about the stiffness of the keys.

they promised to fix it …. when i got my phone back 10 mins later … the keys seemed more responsive. that lasted about 30 mins … they keys went back to being hard to press … harder now coz of the new keypad and i nearly threw the phone against the wall in frustration

this is the fucking last sony ericsson phone i’ll be using

———-

bryan’s new sony ericsson phone didn’t even last a year before it started to shut itself off 3 to 4 times a day … he’s already change to another phone

robin’s white k770i’s vibrator died a month of two after he got it … and he can’t wait to chuck it and get an iPhone

anyone else got stories to add ?

nope, i always felt they charge an absurd price for buttons/casing replacement.

the url i gave is popular with some forum users – they say its much cheaper than getting it done at SE svc ctrs

golly that’s bad. were all of u using the same model?
i know the k750 had some problems with the directional stick getting stiff.

my se phones buttons nvr did come loose and i’ve been a long time SE fan since t610

the only SE phone i had that had malfunctioning buttons was the S700 after almost 2 years of use.

the thing is … my phone is not even 6 mths old!!!

and bryan’s phone was about 7 mths old

and robin;s phone went bonkers at 1 mth

that kind of numbers is just fucked up … if i was the only SE giving problems amongst all my frens i might not kick up such a big fuss

i gave up on nokia long ago …. at that time they were super overpriced and the quality just didn’t justify the price … sony just stepped into the same space where they failed their customers with inferior products

so u’re saying the price for replacing the covers is justified?

and its ok for keypads to be built such that they don’t need to last more than 3 months?

… i’ve never had to replace my previous keypads before … in fact … my previous phone lasted more than 24 mths … phone these days just aren’t built to last

My SEs are great – only the Nokias giving me problems.

Actually if your phone is out of warranty, u can order & replace the casing and parts yourself
