petrol price hike

took me 30 mins to get to a pump to fill up my car … and i use BHP instead of Shell or Esso. The queues around petrol stations were horrible all over KL and the resulting jams that saw cars backed up for kilometers were not pretty.

the ugly malaysia reared his/her ugly head in queue jumping, taking his/her own sweet time at the pump and the impatient many who leaned on their horns.

we are a society that is completely dependent on fossil fuels. we really need to cut down on this usage and dependence and find alternative forms of energy that is better for our planet

i’m seriously wondering how i can cut down my fuel usage in a city that has terrible transportation infrastructure … not like i can just bike to work and stay in the office all day
:-(

yup …. complete know what u mean … but driving also can find ways to cut down or be more fuel efficient lor

i’m trying not to “step on it” and also traveling when its not so jam …. sigh … wat else to do to save fuel ah?

yeah … i’m actually look to get a hybrid car altho i doubt it’ll be a viable option in Malaysia. The infrastructure for things that are not the norm isn’t there … so just a more fuel efficient car may be the best way to go.

i try to sleep and work without aircon in the house as much as possible and i don’t support the raising of animals for food as the UN says that contributes on a “massive scale” to air and water pollution, land degradation, climate change, and loss of biodiversity.

i wonder what other indications are need to make the average person realise they need to change their consumption and daily living behaviour in consideration for our planet

KL Transport system sucks lor. That’s why i ended up driving instead of taking LRT when i used to work in KL.

2 years down the line, and it STILL hasn’t improved any. Like it or not, no car means no life in Msia. :(

sad to say the price is going up because as a whole the human race is burning more and more fuel.

and if everyone does their part to reduce then the price would go down and then we will all consume more again!

well for your part you can look into a smaller cc or even hybrid car and then you might consider a scooter/motorbike.

when i am at home i have exactly 2 (low wattage) lights on only.
kind of addicted to aircon in the bedroom now after almost 20 years of going without. i do set the thermostat at 26C tho.

and then there are those long haul flights ….
