I’ve had to do quite a few presentations to clients recently about the Malaysia & the internet. So i ended up creating another blog, http://jermyntoh.blogspot.com/, which clients and colleagues could read ….. and i’m cross posting this in LJ

Internet Penetration is at 60%!

Bench mark this Penetration Rate with:
Singapore – 53.2%
Taiwan – 67.4%
Hong Kong – 69.9%
Thailand – 13%

What I think is most significant is % each country contributes to % Users in Asia
China – 41.1%
Japan – 19.0%
India – 13.0%
South Korea – 6.8%
Indonesia – 4.3%
Vietname – 3.6%
Malaysia – 3.2%
Taiwan – 3%
Philippines – 3%
Hong Kong – 1.1%
Singapore – 0.5%

Asia represent 38.7% of Internet Users in the World

    yup … noticed that. the figures for singapore don’t seem to be the latest … i noticed they were from 2006 whereas all the other countries were from 2007

    The figures on the website don’t agree with the figures released by FTec and Intel. Weird. They gave Singapore a much higher internet penetration percentage.
