hmm … another post which i thought i wanted to share
this was in response to someone who asked if i wud be smoking this weekend since its a major party weekend

no urge to smoke at all since i quit … seriously!
the book really helps.
and once u read the book … u know those quit smoking pills, nicotine patches and all other crap out there to “help smokers quit” aren’t needed at all. its just people making money off a drug addiction.
think of heroine addicts and people making money off them as they try to quit and u’ll see what i mean. wud u give a heroine addict heroine patches to help him come off his addiction!!??
smoking is a drug addiction … once u see that …. and handle it the way u handle a drug addiction …. and when u get out of that addiction… then there won’t be any desire to smoke
its been proven that if u injected the amount of nicotine found in 1 cigarette directly into ur veins ….at one go … u will die.
inhaling it into ur body through a cigarette is really take a poison in at such small doses that ur body doesn’t react to it … that’s how infections and viruses invade the body
its also documented that nicotine withdrawal is very slight … ur body hardly notices it. its the psychological addition that u notice and that’s what or who is doing the reacting. think about a child and tantrums he throws when he cannot have something … and u can see the parallels
think back to ur first cigarette … and how difficult it was for you to smoke it … how foul the taste was … and how u had to MAKE ur self smoke regularly in order to get used to smoking. that was ur body reacting to the low levels of poisoning .. yet we forced our bodies to deal with it and our bodies being amazing systems … got used to the poisoning.
BUT the poisoning manifests itself throught the years in heart-disease, cancer and lung disease and other forms of sicknesses.
knowing all this …. and understanding why people smoke … i now have decided to be a non-smoker and handle life and all its stresses like other non-smokers who function perfectly well
non-smokers don’t need to light up to relax or relief stress … before i smoked … i handled stress, relaxed and enjoyed social ocassions perfectly well without cigarettes
so quitting is me understanding all the above and making a decision to stop my drug addiction
