I am over 35 and knowing that heart disease is the #1 killer in the world and smokers have as much as a 3 times higher chance of dying from heart disease … i figure I’ve got do something about it.

I have no idea what made me do it … but at 3am last nite I enlisted Bryan Wong Jun Hon’s help to quit smoking.
I failed miserably the last few times I tried or eventually went back to smoking after a few weeks going cold-turkey and I figured …. if this time is gonna be different … I gotta get help. Right?
The agreement with Bryan is that I’m not allowed to smoke at home and also whenever he’s around and if i do want to … it’ll cost me RM150 a cigarette. RM150 to smoke 1 cigarette!!! He said he’ll use the money to treat me so it comes back to me anyway but still … its like throwing RM150 away just to puff a stick of rolled up leaves.
WAH LIAO EH !!! Still …. somewhat hesitantly … we shook pinkies on it.
If i’m going enlist a fren to help … i gotta go with what he says right? Its only with people’s help that I’ll be able to really quit for real right.
Its 11 hours into my first day without a cigarette. Its after lunch now and the cravings to light up are strong … very strong. ARGH!!!!
I’ve been smoking about 10 sticks a day and I figure I shud go cold turkey if I’m gonna make it through a friday without having to cough up RM150 or RM300 to Bryan.
What a day to choose to quit … a Friday … and we have to attend a fren’s birthday at Frangi tonite followed by another club’s pre-launch or opening there after.
HOW NOT TO SMOKE ON A FRIDAY NITE AT 2 SOCIAL EVENTS WHERE ALL MY FRENS SMOKE!!!
How to lounge casually against the wall and hope someone finds me cute enough to talk to WITHOUT a cigarette between my fingers?
Please let me find the strenghth to make it through the next 13 hours … PLEASE!!!!

my box of ciggies last me 4 days, great improvement. considerin it used to be 1 pack a day.

was allowed 1 cig on fri nite and sat nite.
i use my quota for both nites while i was at the clubs.
its been good since then
sigh … damn hard .. especially when u have frens who light up.
but i’m starting to not like the taste of cigarettes so that might help for now

temptation will always be there.
Going cold turkey style can be quite tough… and painful! Try cutting it down slowly bit by bit or try some nicotine gums. I heard from most people who tried to stop smoking, the pitfall is that they need to have something to occupy the time they use for smoking. Chewing a gum may help to curb the cravings..
It is good to have friends who are supportive in your effort to try to stop smoking.. even smoker friends should respect your wishes (and stop smoking in front of you).

technically i can smoke when i’m at work or when he’s not around … but the point of quitting is so i will be less at risk to heart disease!!!
