inspired by robingoh to look through my past LJ entries, i stumbled upon this exchange in response to a photo of the both of us when we were 18.
Its been 3 years since this post … 3 more years of humps, bumps, ups, downs, swells, smiles, loves, memories, heart warming moments, sad moments, special moments and more.
I look back at the past 3 yrs and count my blessings for the amazing journey i’ve been on. Here’s lookin forward to the next 13 yrs

Jerm, I won’t kill you for posting that pic lah. I don’t really think we looked that bad. Just young. Soooo young. What were we thinking then? Shopping? Love? Buddha? Were we thinking at all? Or rushing headlong into all of these things? The future was bright and the skies limitless. Now, I think we’re both brought down a little bit, if not by love, then career disappointments. But what a trip it has been, and how the journey wil continue! I shudder to think all the bumps and humps that are waiting for us in the next 13 years, and yet, I can’t wait, bruises and scars be damned. I can’t believe that after all these years, the people who stick with you are the same people who said they would. Go figure. If that’s not faith and hope and truth and love, I don’t know what is.

u just reminded me of the time at my grandma’s place when we were 15 after Youth Theatre Singapore and i said “You’re Cancer right? I’m Scorpio … we should live together cause our signs are compatible.”
yeah …. bruises and scars be damned!! we wear them well and what’s life without all these moments.
I’ve set my sight on accumulating humps, bumps, ups, downs, swells, smiles, loves, memories, heart warming moments, sad moments, special moments and more …. so we can end up in rocking chairs on some porch in an Old Folks Home For the GAY we own ….. bitching about the past 50yrs and the guys we were with and the things we did in our lifes!!

But on a serious side, looking at that photo and reading your post is quite touching. To know that two friends have been friends for so many fucking years is amazing you know that? If you guys were a couple, it would be even amazing. But for friends to stick around after all these years is really great considering that friends do come and go in our lives. Maybe you guys are just soul mates.
Thinking of all these young gay boys now who come out at such a young age (in their teens), I smile thinking of all that lies ahead of them. Lovers be damn, but if they can meet and have a friend who can be with them for decades, I think that is quite an achievement. Who says everything in the life of a gay man is ephemeral is obviously ignorant. So much exciting possibilities and challenges ahead.
