Health Check

I’m over 35 and I’ve been procrastinating about getting a full medical screening. My dad’s diabetic & has high blood pressure and mom’s had breast cancer. They’ve asked me to do this since I turned 35 but I never got around to it.

I’ve got a super weak stomach from young and I’ve been getting regular vertigo attacks recently.

Having a sweet tooth, loving starch and having stopped going to the gym regularly for the past year …. I think its about time I did 3 things:

1) Go for a full medical screening … this is scheduled for 15 June

2) Go back to gymming at least 2 times a week

3) Change my diet …. after reading an article how a no-starch diet is used to reverse diabetes*, I started this last nite

Why? …. coz ….

  • Diabetes currently affects 246 million people worldwide and is expected to affect 380 million by 2025.
  • In 2007, the five countries with the largest numbers of people with diabetes are India (40.9 million), China (39.8 million), the United States (19.2 million), Russia (9.6 million) and Germany (7.4 million).
  • Each year a further 7 million people develop diabetes.
  • Every 10 seconds a person dies from diabetes-related causes.
  • Every 10 seconds two people develop diabetes.
  • Diabetes is the fourth leading cause of global death by disease.
  • At least 50% of all people with diabetes are unaware of their condition. In some countries this figure may reach 80%.

i think a lot of people we know will find out they have diabetes too at the rate we’re going with our eating habits

if its not diabetes or heart disease … its cancer that’ll touch our lives

working with the pharmaceutical industry is depressing sometimes
