I find it sad that 2 of the 3 public “gay” blogs seem to have been taken off. The only one remaining is read only.
I’m not advocating that we get up and demonstrate or fight for our rights. In Asia, I think things will happen when they happen. Given that, what I’m advocating is that we stand our ground and ask for other human beings to respect us as human beings.
they have a right to their believe systems. If that’s their opinion … fine. But there isn’t a need to incite others into a hate-campaign and verbally / emotionally bashing those different from you so that they cower and run into the shadows to hide. Isn’t that behaviour similar to how people would start racial riots to encourage racial segregation?
If people were taught to respect people of other races, can’t we make our stand & refuse to move to the back of the bus too?

i’m sorry – that’s exactly the kind of reaction they want and i think those who have the courage to, should stand their ground
i’ve had a website called out loud and proud in singapore since the 90s. if u did a google / yahoo search on gay singapore over the last 10 yrs u wud have seen it.
I say be “who u are with no apologies”. why let the vocal small minded people ride rough shod over our right to be who we are? I’m not talking about rights as outline in a constitution but the right to basic human respect for another human being
if no one is gonna stand up for our rights … then who will?
do we want to forever run for cover everytime the heat looks like its gonna get turned up?
we need efforts to move people who don’t have an open mind into the 21st century … not run and empower those who look to bully, discriminate and incite ill-will
