a project revived … Out Loud & Proud … http://www.geocities.com/jermyn_toh/

In 1996, I put together a personal website with my story of coming out, being gay and falling in love. It was really an effort to present a gay asian man’s perspective at a time when there weren’t very many gay asian personal websites.

I took the site down except for the landing page over a year ago ’cause I felt it had lost its relevance.

I recently met someone who asked me what happened to the rest of the pages. He had read the site many years ago and wanted to revisit some of the things I wrote but couldn’t find any of the old content. That made me dig up my old site and in doing so I reread the guestbook.

Funny that I actually forgot how many people visited and left a word or two about what they felt after reading what I had posted.

Here’s an update of my personal website for old times sake.

Positioning strategies seek overall to influence people to think that there is something different or ultimately unique about this company, product or set of products. It is not unlike insurance or perhaps prescription pharmaceuticals being an intangible good or set of goods. Selling the prestige of an alcoholic beverage might be said not to be far off as well.

actually was thinking of that …. but the geocities address is part of the history

if u ever remember geocities … setting up a website was so fun!

u surfed on in … looked through a town map based on interests … and picked a house number. you could see who ur neighbours were and their interests etc ….

so i choose WestHollywood where other gay and lesbian people from the world were and picked house number 8387!! i think i was next to a lesbian and another gay guy both from the states!

shaoann got an address “near” by too although the gals completely forgotten her geocities address

  9. JermynToh says:

yeah … funnny huh .. blast from the past. when i signed up … it was like a little town map with houses numbers you could pick.

geocities was bought over by yahoo! to be packaged as an offering.

when you sign up for a yahoo mail account you get a photos, briefcase and geocities account all bundled
