KL

I just realised that in the frenzy of everything that’s been happening … i’ve forgotten to post some developments that happened a month ago.

I’m being sent to KL. I still get to come back to SG every month for a week .. or maybe 2 depending on how hectic it gets in either office. But in 12 days time … i’ll start my life in 2 cities.

My company has been looking for a Country Manager for their KL office since November 04 but they couldn’t find anyone they were comfortable with. One day over lunch, I jokingly said I’d go … next thing I knew … my bosses asked if I was serious and we discussed how I could still look after things in SG while going to KL to set up the office.

I agreed to it … and I realised I never really gave a lot of thought to this. But i guess i’m ready for another challenge / change in life and I guess this comes at an opportune time.

2 weeks pass and I’m up in KL meeting our Malaysian clients as well as looking at apartments to rent. another 2 weeks later I’m scrambling through meetings with our Financial Controller and confirming an apartment.

Next, I’m due in KL this Thurs for more meetings, to sign the apartment’s lease and to interview some candidates keen to be our first KL staff.

The lease starts on the 9th of May and I’m planning to pack half my things into Matlida (my red honda jazz) and drive up on the 8th. Feels funny … splitting my things and my life in half in order to commute, live and work in 2 cities.

mixed emotions …

I guess i’m excited .. to be able to live & work in another country .. its a great opportunity professionally and I’m quite daunted by what is expected of me … yet thrilled by the challenge ….

but I’m also a little worried about how AJ & delon will be … as well as eugenia who’ll be joining us shortly …. and being away from my emotional and psychological foundations of love and dear dear frens

sigh … so many things happening in such a short time … the need & drive to over-perform going into hyper mode again
