day 1

Tweet parents got in at 2359 yesterday and by the time we got home it was 12.45am. stayed up till 4am chatting and getting them settled into the place.

thankfully they think the apartment is pretty decent altho it really does feel like a male bachelor’s pad …. wat do u expect … we don’t cook at home … not that often anyway

they kept raving about how big the bedrooms are.

i can see its gonna take a while for mom to get used to the wet toilet put she seems to be a trooper.

they said my sister’s old place in New York was worse … the toilet and apartment had a musky smell and there was even minor flooding of the toilet once while they were there.

they got up at 8am and decided to go on a walk around the neighbourhood. got back at about 9.30am and we headed out for the day shortly after.

they insisted on getting an oven for the kitchen so my mom could cook nice things. not having enough table space to put the new oven, it also meant we had to get another cupboard. while shopping for these items, my dad got it in him to put in a screen to separate the kitchen from the living room so the air-conditioning wouldn’t over-run into the kitchen.

after a tiring day of shopping … i dropped mom off at the hair dressers to get her hair done and dad at sim lim to satisfy his addiction for gadgets … i crawled home to sleep till 6pm.

we just finished putting the cupboard together, reorganizing how things are stored and putting in the oven. they’ve suddenly gotten tired and are now in their rooms asleep.

that’s day 1 …. phew .. think it went well … they’ve been binging on local food … chui kweh, bak kut teh, sliced fish soup, wanton mee, sui gau soup, rojak …

now …. i’m just waiting for the kids to be dropped off … ex is going back to ipoh tomorrow and they 2 cats are coming back for the next few months. i miss dino screaming his lungs out for some attention

tomorrow .. its off to buy groceries so mom can start cooking up a storm in preparation for CNY
