I’M FREAKING OUT!!!!

my parents are coming back for CNY and i’m getting very stressed by it …. i remember when i moved out of a rented condo and moved into my present place … it took me a while to get used to things. reality of the life … no longer living with parents since they migrated …… separated from my lover of 5 yrs so wat i could afford on a single income was renting a nice 3-room flat

My parents have spoilt us and themselves since young … expats in Tokyo since i was 6 …. landed house for the past 22 yrs …. and they kept renovating / rebuilding the house so it’d be nice and comfortable for all of us. shaozie / bin bin … now u know who to blame for me being a brat!!!

the pictures of their home in canada is so picturesque … the contrast of that place covered in snow with the humid & cramped quarters of my flat cannot be more stark!!!

i love the place i’m at now as its really become my own little sanctuary but i’m so worried mom and dad won’t be able to adjust to public housing … walking down a common corridor with units full of half naked neighbours with one leg propped up on a sofa or stool watching TV or having dinner …. laundry hanging on make-shift wires or on bamboo poles…. a rooster crowing in the middle of the night.

my biggest worry is the wet toilet!!! my dad is one of those that will not do his business in a place he feels uncomfortable … and they’re gonna be here for 6 weeks …WAT ARE WE GONNA IF HE CAN’T ADJUST TO THE TOILET!!??

mom has been calling very frequently and has big plans to get a grill oven, slow cooker etc etc so she can prepare a nice dinner. i keep telling her there’s no place in the tiny kitchen to put all the appliances and that all i have is a hot plate so u can only warm 2 things at any one time!! she just says … we’ll see! i really hope she’s not planning a 16 course spread like she usually does on such occasions.

then there’s the bedroom …. all the junk and things i didn’t unpack i keep in the other bedroom. now i gotta think about how to make the extra-room cum storeroom liveable … ARGH … i think i’ll move most of the junk into my room so they won’t feel the room is so ekky .. then change the curtains … get some uplights … throw pillows … rugs …

WAT IF THEY FEEL THEY CAN’T MOVE OUT IN ORDER NOT TO MAKE ME FEEL BAD AND SUFFER IN SILENCE FOR 6 WEEKS!!??

ARGH …. i need a new place … big, well renovated and nicely furnished … maybe i should just check them into the Ritz
