ha .. i was fuming when i wrote the entry la .. i just don’t get it when people don’t listen .. i mean .. i was on the other side … and i am on the other side with customers at the store …. i listen … why can’t they open their ears and listen to a customer

But it’s so fun to have legit reason to yell and scream at these people! But then again, they’re also trying to do their job. It’s just tough luck for them that they chose something that I’m sure gets them yelled at 9 times out of the 10 times they call. Hanging up is probably the least rude thing you can do.

aiyah … banks and stuff la .. all these tele marketing firms get phone lists based on demographics and stuff and once u’re details are sold by some unscrupulous bank or company … it gets out there and many companies start calling u for all sorts of nonsense ….
that’s why I never ever give out my cell phone number … if any forms require a telephone number I give my room line … and they ring and ring all they want ‘coz no one will pick up during the day.
and there’s this super duper irritating lady (sounds very much like an indian) from NKF who talks non-stop and is super persistant who calls a couple of times a year to thank you for your donation and asks for MORE donation.. urgh..
someone just shut her up! :p

i also say … i think ur suggestion about complaing to meritus hotel is a good one.
i’ve given up on another investment firm … they call me and email me an average of once every 2 months and its the same gal from philippines … and i’ve yelled at her more each time till i’ve developed this wonderful way of dealing with her.
now when she calls i just say:
… its you again
… my name is still in your database?
…. do i need to scream at you again
and she just says sorry and hangs up.
it’s no use. we must make a concerted effort to stop this bad practice.
you need to complain directly to Meritus Hotel and then follow up by boycotting them and their services. As long as it makes business sense for people to do this they will continue to do this. But if the public just do not put up with this unprofessional conduct then it will stop.
Ask them for their name and number the next time. What i find especially underhand is that they hide their phone numbers.
I will declare publicly that i am boycotting STANDARD CHARTERED MANHATTAN CARD because they use an unprofessional firm to solicit for business. After they promised to remove my name from their databases they persisted in calling me again. What kind of service can you expect from them if they can’t accede to a simple request not to be solicted for business on your mobile?
yesh.. i get that all the time too… just tell them you are still a student.. usually they will just hang up! haha
