For those who mocked me …. here are the pictures to prove that i can fix a tap!

I love the taps .. they look so nice compared to the ugly plastic taps from the 80s.
Also attended Bharanatyam Dance class at 1pm and Hatha Yoga class at 5.30pm!!
Went to Balestier Road to look for taps and you won’t believe what a con those shops are!!!
They told me $28 for the toilet tap with 2 heads and $18 for the kitchen tap. total was $46 so I asked if I could get it for $40. She said no … told me the most she could do was $20 for the toilet tap. DUHHH!!!! Some people really don’t think before opening their mouths .. and she probably slept through math class.
So got the taps at $38. Can you imagine the mark-up on those things!!! They even wanted to charge me GST if I insisted on a receipt!! They SO doctor their books!
Rushed to Bharanatyam class at 1.30pm and I must say … its a really amazing dance form. There are 25 hand gestures and we only learnt 5 today. There are 3 levels your eyes can look at and centre, left right so that makes 9 eye positions. We didn’t even get to the feet beyond basic stomping in 3 speeds!!!! Try doing all that at the same time.
Finished class at 3.30pm and rushed home to fix my taps. Toilet tap was a breeze. After re-attaching the kitchen tap, I turn it on and realise the new tap has a leak!! ARGH …. dismantled the tap to figure out where the leak was coming from and realised its just bad manufacturing. After winding much white plumbing tape on all the joints and reassembling the tap … I turn on the tap and find that it doesn’t leak no more. I’m so glad dad had this thing about fixing things himself and asking us to help … wouldn’t know wat to do if it wasn’t for his subtle teaching ways.
Had about 15 mins to spare so tinkled with the toilet flush and got it somewhat fixed. It should hold till next month or something when I’m in the mood to disassemble the whole thing, buy a new flush system and install it.
After all that, I felt quite refreshed so rushed down to yoga class at Yoga Spirit in Chinatown. Realise its Hatha yoga instead of Ashtanga that I’m used to. It was a good class .. very challenging!! But I think I still prefer Ashtanga. Its more structured and allows you to strengthen your body before progressing to the harder positions. More about Ashtanga
Had dinner with Shao Ann after class and now I’m at home doing a post before catching a nap and then heading to Happy to make an appearance!
WHAT A DAY …. I think I’ll make up for it tomorrow with just lazing around all day and sleeping. Too much excitement & activity is not good for someone my age!
