Scenario:
- furniture was delivered to him and he signed the delivery advice accepting the piece and acknowledging it to be in good condition
- we talk to him a week later and he says payment hasn’t been made as there’s a black mark on it
- we give him benefit of doubt (since the mark could be caused by him) and arrange to pick up the piece and ship in a replacement
- delivery guys arrive and he refuses to release it saying he’s got nothing to use
- wat can we do but leave the piece there and have another piece shipped in
- new piece arrives, is delivered to him and he signs for it again
- old piece is collected and upon seeing it, we know we can’t sell it as there are scratches all over
- 1 week later he calls us and says the bottom of the piece is unfinished
- he sends pictures and we ackowledge that in the rush, Hong Kong probably missed that out
- we offer to replace it ASAP but restate our policy that we need to collect back furniture
- he screams his head off saying this is terrible service and wants to speak to the president to complain
- we restate our policy and he insists that he did not agree for the first piece to be collected and arrangement was made for delivery before he could tell us he needed to keep the furniture
- gets really nasty and starts screaming and asks if we are calling him a liar
- he actually quotes “the customer is always right”
- says he’s gonna write to SPH and all to complain
- told him to go ahead since we given him a special discount on the pieces he ordered, didn’t charge him for delivery and accomodated him by leaving furniture at his house on his insistance
- have not charged him the extra delivery trips or for the “used” piece which we can’t sell and we are still keen replace this piece
- given all this i told him he’s being unreasonable and hot-tempered by calling us liars
- end of situation, he says just come pick up the piece and he’ll decide if he still wants it
- hate this kind of customers, they think that by being a foreigner, lording that over people and being nasty … they can get their way
- from the moment he answered my call you can tell that he’s just out to have his way
- to top it all off, he’s just renting the house and the furniture is being provided by the leasing company so he doesn’t even take the furniture with him when he leaves the country!!!
- the one who paid for the pieces is the leasing company and all they can say is he’s making things difficult for them too

can you imagine …he shouted over the phone … “can you LISTEN to ME” …while i was explaining things … just cause he didn’t hear wat he wanted to hear.
amazed my staff got patience to deal with him for so long…. I really had to keep myself from telling him to go F@ himself

its ok la …. we did our best to be nice and cordial. we have a good reputation amongst all our customers and magazines all think we’re easy and nice to work with
one bad customer no matter how loud he shouts won’t make me feel bad cause i know we did everything to make the situation better in a reasonable way.
and i saw the first piece. the black mark looked like a cigarette ash stain on the top of the table. doubt it was there when it was delivered or it wud have been pointed out when unwrapped as it was SO obvious.
try to be nice and end up being taken advantage of … sigh
wah lao, that customer is such an asshole. customers are always right? in this case, that statement is bullshit man. this customer is obviously out to create trouble and make things difficult for people what. and he somemore say he wants to write to so-and-so to complain ah? wah, he so free? i think the person who receives his letter will also say he’s quite a bitch lor. LOL. anyway, i feel bad for your shop lor, cos this whole incident is pretty reputation-tarnishing for your shop. :”(
