Walk through malay village

Geylang Serai changes each year I viisit. Seems like I’ve been going regularly for the past 5 years or so and each year more and more chinese stalls pop up making it more like a chinese pasar malam rather than a malay one selling all things malay in anticipation of Hari Raya. Silly me … forgot my camera so I have nothing to show for the 2 hour walk through the streets at snail speed.

The sites were amazing and the sounds were even more so. You can most certainly go deaf if you hang around a certain corner where 2 malay guys are screaming their lungs out to get people to come to their stall to buy bed linen. Interesting site and quite a laugh if you can understand what they say. The food stuff is also amazing. If you look hard enough, you can actually find traditional malay cakes and savouries still wrapped in leaves or bamboo and things!!!
